The mission of the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO) is to promote health, fitness and psychological well-being for senior adults by providing opportunities for participation, competition, self-improvement and fellowship through various athletic and recreational events.

NVSO was organized in 1982 in conjunction with these sponsoring jurisdictions. To participate in events, individuals must be age 50 or older and a resident of one of those jurisdictions. Events include: track & field, swimming & diving, pickleball, basketball, cycling, and many more.
